This is for you ladies out there…have you ever wanted a penpal? The chance to write e-mails back and forth to someone who lives in a foreign country? Well, one of Parkside’s missionary families, the Yurkovich’s, lives over in the Czech Republic (anyone even know where that is?) and they have a daughter named Elizabeth who would love the chance to talk to some of you over e-mail. She’s in middle school too, but in a foreign country…I wonder what life is like over there?

After hearing some reports from drivers about current road conditions and the prospect of worsening weather, Club JV is canceled for Feb. 12. We’ll be back on, Lord willing, next week!

I just heard that it is supposed to snow like crazy in the next 24 hours, so I wanted to put up a quick post to remind you to check this website to see whether or not we have Club JV. If the weather gets really nasty (snow day? sledding?) and I decide to cancel Club, I will post something up here to that effect. If, however, you don’t see anything on this site, we are still on. In other words, assume we are having Club unless you read something up here that tells you otherwise.
Another way to find out if Club JV has been canceled is to sign up for Twitter, an online service that will send you a text message when an update is posted. Again, assume that we are having Club unless you get a message that tells you otherwise. Thanks!

What an amazing trip! While I had a blast skiing and losing all my tokens on the finger-tracing game at Chuck E. Cheese (is it even possible to win?), I think my favorite part was playing basketball in the pool at Splash Lagoon. The competition was fierce, but as it normally goes, the leaders came away with the victory…
What was your favorite part of the weekend? The Twizzler Bus? The Hurricane Hole? Being huge and going off jumps on the slopes? Putting salad, spaghetti, mac&cheese, steak, ice cream and chicken wings all on the same plate at the OCB? Post a reply and let us know!
