It is with Great Joy and Pride and Thankfulness to God that Chris and Leanne Harrington want to let you know that they have a new member of their family! Mark Alan Harrington was born Friday March 27th. He’s a cute little dude - Chris and Leanne were kind enough to let Dan Olivia and I go visit and see him on Sunday afternoon. Chris was Giddy and Excited, Leanne was glowing and equally excited (I finally understand what people mean about mothers glowing). It was an incredible experience to hang out with them and hold the baby. Chris and Leanne posted some pictures for us to take a look at HERE - Mark is a cute little guy especially in his hoodie.
All of this reminded me of two verses that I want to share with you real quick.
The first is what a cool reminder it is of God’s hand in the creation of new people coming into the world when babies are born. Psalm 139:13-14 says this: “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” That’s pretty cool because before any of us knew that Mark was going to be Mark - God did! - and He was making his little hands and feet and all that good stuff - creating him to be exactly who he wants Mark to be.
The other thing this reminded me of was the miracle of Spiritual birth - that even though we might not be little babies any more that people who trust in Jesus experience the miracle of new birth spiritually. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says this: ”Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, He is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”. It’s an incredible truth and one that we can experience and remember (especially because i don’t remember when i was born, i’m not sure i want to!!).
Well make sure to keep Chris, Leanne, and Mark in your prayers. Have a GREAT day - see you all tomorrow for the final week of TCT.
P.S. Chris wants extra points for Canada because they have a new team member - but part of me thinks Scotland should get wayyyy more points because Mark was technically on team scotland while he was still in mom’s tummy. How many points does one get for that - a few thousand for a first timer plus bonus for giving birth????????
Did you tear up a little when you saw that picture for the first time? I did! Southam had to stand up and salute. The patriotism is unbelievable - David Robinson, George Washington - too bad they missed each other by 2 thousand years or so. can you imagine if they were next door neighbors hooping it up old school style . . . goosebumps. (girls imagine Martha Stewart and Pocahontas hanging out - now you’re getting the picture).
I transition to other patriotism - yours for your team in march - it’s been incredible. I still don’t have my Lamborghini matchbox car but I’m feeling the love :). you guys were awesome last night and this whole month has been a blast.

Hey while you’re getting all excited about T.C.T. we have something really cool for you to check out.
For the Ladies . . . March 21st there is a painting and pottery event at Parkside Church in the fellowship hall. It will be at 10:00 am and you’ll get to paint some sweet pottery pieces. Once painted your masterpieces will be taken to a kiln to fire them and in about a week presto you can pick up your finished work of art. It’s $10 per person to cover the price of the materials and for drinks. Bring your favorite snack to share. Your mom can’t make it? - no worries you can adopt a mom for the day, grandma, aunt etc.
For you Guys. . . Same day different event. March 21st at the solon bowling alley 1:30 in the afternoon. 33185 bainbridge road, Solon Ohio 44139 (map). It’s $10 per person to cover the cost of bowling - it’s going to be a blast we’ll just hang out and bowl together. If your dad can’t make it you can always adopt a dad for the day and bring them.

Mmmmm these Muffins are delicious. Especially delicious because they come in the form of a bribe - and whenever food is free it tastes better. So good in fact that JAMAICA just picked up some points for their efforts and they’re on their way to catching team EGYPT. Jealous - thought so - i’m tucking my napkin into my shirt (my new TCT shirt - it’s sweet) and getting ready for some tasty treats. Please not too much junk food - i’m trying to stay in shape.
To commemorate this moment i think i’ll write a poem. . .
